Moving to Utah?

Well I plan on moving to Utah, I'm currently living in San Diego, and I was wondering what is it like there. And is it cheeper buying a house there, than San Diego? What is the weather, and are schools and kids fun? Also do people from Utah have accents?Moving to Utah?
If you like the out of doors, Utah has it all. If you are beach person.. the closest thing Utah has to a beach is the great salt lake and that is not very good. See have Bryce Canyon, Zions Natl Park, Dinosaur monument, Dead Horse point, Goblin Valley, drive highway 12 in the fall and see Hells backbone, raft the green river, See the timp cave, have a picnic in the American fork canyon, Ski at Snowbird or Alta, visit albion basin in the summer, See the clear blue water of bear lake, rent a house boat at lake powell. Utah has all 4 seasons with snow starting in late october and lasting until feb/march. Its not as crowded as San Diego and the people are nice. Mormons dont smoke and that is nice when you go out to eat... The liquor laws are insane.. but overall a great place.

The houses are cheaper.

They don't really have accents- but often ignore the letter t in the words mountain (moun-in) and hunter (hunner). You will see alot more pseudo swearing (heck, dang, dag-nabbit, shoot, flip, freak... etc.)

West side schools are pretty crowded, east side are pleasant, rural are few and far between.

And theres an issue you failed to mention but its important. Within 2 months of moving in the mormons will try to convert you. If you are nit interested tell them nice but firm NO. Watch who you give your number-- some mormons will give it to the church, along with your address and kids birthdays(comepletely serious!!)

Not that the mormons are all bad. If you live here long enough youll find some who are reasonably rational and very friendly!

I lived in San Diego for 5 years and 1 year in Utah, it is a totally different enviroment, in summer time it gets dark around 9:30 and the sun rises at 6 am, very cold in the winter. The house i use to live in san diego was about 420 k, the same house was worth 250k in utah? that was in provo, utah.Moving to Utah?
I currently live in Utah and i love it. The house of living is cheaper and i even think that the gas prices are cheaper. The schools are great. It depends on what part of the state that you live in with the weather for an example southern Utah gets really hot in the summer time, Northern Utah does get hot to but not as hot as the southern part of the states does. We got snow in the valleys in northern Utah in the winter time that gets really cold. But i enjoy it because it kills the bugs. The Economy is starting to grow here in Utah. No we do not accents. There is a variety of diversity. There are places to go and see throughout the state. Any questions feel free to contact me.
