Thinking of moving to Utah?

I was planning to move to Utah the early part of 2011. I was thinking of the Salt Lake City area or maybe Provo/Orem area. If anyone had any information on the areas: crime, job outlook, good/bad areas, weather, etc. Any help is appreciated.Thinking of moving to Utah?
Well, Salt Lake City is definitely bigger than Provo/Orem so if you prefer bigger cities, go there. But with that also comes higher crime rates and a higher cost of living. The job outlook isn't much different from anywhere else in the country. Jobs exist, but the competition to get them is pretty tough. Provo is a little bit of a college town. Orem is more family-ish--more houses, fewer apartments. Although a lot of the housing in Orem is newer because it's built up a lot in the last 10-15 years. There are some nice little cities in between SLC and Provo/Orem, like Lehi and American Fork, that you might want to look into. And Springville, which is just south of Provo, has very good housing prices, and a very low crime rate. It has a little bit more of a small-town feel, but it's only ten minutes from Provo and about an hour from Salt Lake, so it's not isolated or anything.

The weather is pretty similar throughout that part of the state: cold, snowy winters and hot dry summers. All of those cities are in the valleys of the Wasatch Mountains. But the closer your house actually is the to the mountains, the more wind, snow, and cold you will have.

If you want to live in a really beautiful--but expensive--mountain city, try Park City or Midway. They're right in the mountains, not the valleys, so the winters get pretty extreme. But they are really fun places. Park City is kind of a tourist town, but Midway isn't so much. And I can't imagine Midway even has a crime rate.
