Whats the Utah economy like?

What is the Utah economy like? My husband has a job offer near Salt Lake.

- How much do you pay for gas?

-How much do you pay for milk?

-What is the weather like there right now?

- If my kids arent' Mormon's will they be teased in school and labeled as outcasts?

-Whats a nice town with population of 2,000 or less near the Saltl Lake area?Whats the Utah economy like?
Gas right now is about $3.20 give or take.

Milk is about $2 per gallon (It's been expensive lately everywhere due to high corn prices)

40 degrees in Utah is a LOT warmer than 40 degrees in the east or the North. It's a dry cold. throw on a sweater, and go outside. Jan and Feb are the coldest. Most days I wear a light jacket if I'm just going out to my car and then into buildings. They do an incredibly good job of clearing the snow off of the roads in most areas.

I don't think you're kids will be teased any more or less than they would anywhere else. It would be in your best interest to learn a bit about the religion and the culture just so you know what's going on and can follow the lingo. Ask a neighbor who's mormon and they'll help get you up to speed.

A few pointers that will go a long way around em.

they don't drink or smoke or use illegal drugs

most don't watch R movies

Most try to keep their language free from vulgarities and profanities.

If you have a question about their faith or customs, ask em.

2000 or less.....

Huntsville or Eden are nice (but 45 min from SLC).

Grantsville (a bit of a hickville area though and 35 or so minutes away)

Heber - ritzy or farmy and 50 minutes away

There are some nice places up Parleys canyon like Jeremy Ranch. Expensive, but close and nice. (Near park City)

The Ranches, in Eagle Mountain, is very Mormon-y, but nice and quaint.

Feel free to attend church or ward functions whenever you want. Most church sponsored parties are "neighborhood" parties that all are welcome to attend.

All in all, it's a very nice place with very nice people. If I knew where you were coming from, perhaps I could give you better comparisons.

The job market is quite good and it's a good time to buy a home (overbuilt, so it's a buy'ers market).Whats the Utah economy like?
No they won't be teased in school, ignore what you read, they are ignorant of Utah and the Mormon church and only listen or read anti Mormon bigoted literature.

Milk and Gas are the same as the rest of the country.

The weather is cold in the winter and hot in the summer, it's a high desert surrounded by the Wasatch mountains.Whats the Utah economy like?
The economy in Utah is growing lots of new business are coming to the state and there are more to come. How much i pay for gas it depends i have found it for currently under $3.00. As for milk i shop around and find it on sale. I have found milk as high as $3.50 but if you look around you get it for about $2.50 on sale or even less. Right now the whether is cold outside but it will warm up we just got a bunch of storms in a row. Your children should not be teased in school matter of fact religion does not come up in the schools not unless your children talk to other children. There are several towns near Salt Lake City some all larger and some small.
The economy is booming in SLC. Utah is one of the fastest growing states in the country, and jobs and housing are plentiful. Gas is $2.89 as of this morning, you can get milk for $2.50, no your kids will not get teased for not being Mormon, about 50% of the state is not Mormon, and as for a town that small, you are out of luck, unless you head for a mountain town, which is expensive, or you want to drive about 1.5 hours out of the valley, to some where in Utah or Davis counties.
