i just moved out to salt lake city, utah.im from sunny california.it snows here and it is icy cold.and i believe they put salt on the roads.will this rust up my car?how can i prevent that? How can i protect my car from the freezing weather conditions?
Wash your car routinely, even when it's cold out; in that part of the country, the car washes have "under-body" spray that helps get the salt off the car. The salt isn't really a problem unless it hits a spot where the paint has been scratched or chipped, but it's a good idea to hit the car wash every couple of weeks or so, anyway. When spring arrives, run it through a couple of times to get the last bits out, and enjoy the nice weather while it lasts!
seal it up in plastic shrink wrap, like they do with boats. How can i protect my car from the freezing weather conditions?
After every snow storm, when most of the salt is cleared off the road, take your car to a carwash. Make sure you get the undercarriage wash option too.

Otherwise, welcome to a winter environment. Your car will see more wear. That's the reason people jump all over used cars when they spent their life in Florida. You can cover your car, and not drive it too, that'll solve the problem for the most part right there. Or garage it and you should be good.

i know what your talking about, the salt on the roads.i live in pennsylvania, and they use it on the roads here.well just keep it washed off once in a while.thats what i do.i take my car to the car wash and wash up under the car and the outside too.give your car a good wax job,to protect the paint.use something like maguires or mothers, they are both good wax.good luck.
