People who have moved to St. George Utah from somewhere else, how do you like it?

What is good about it? List as many things as you can think of, please be specific.

If there are things you do not like about it, mention those as well.

Im really looking at moving there from Nebraska, primarily for weather reasons, as well as the beauty, and good size of town. So I need as much feedback as I can possibly get. Thanks in advance!People who have moved to St. George Utah from somewhere else, how do you like it?
I don't live there but one of my coworkers just moved here from there and I have spent a lot of time in Moab and SLC. It is amazingly gorgeous. The hiking between there and Moab is serious hardcore but there is so much to see and in my opinion it's one of the most gorgeous places in the US. It's so different than any other place. The weather is great. You truly get all 4 seasons (though St George is closer to the desert). You aren't far from Vegas for a quick weekend.

You have several nice reservoirs nearby.

However St George is...well more Mormon than SLC. It's...difficult to live there. The extremists of the religion live right around there. The biggest complaint from people come from those with non LDS children. Many of the children are not allowed to associate with non-Mormon kids. As such the parents have been devastated about that.

My husband and I have spent a lot of time in SLC on the military bases. Military bases are slightly different--as people are coming in and out and many do not share the religious views. St George is not nearly as diverse.

I will say that the BEST thing about Utah is how active everyone is. On the base, people have kayaks strapped to the top of the car. You can get groups together at the drop of a hat to go fishing, hiking, kayaking, snow skiing--there are some great slopes near St George. If you can deal with the religion, it is an amazing area.
